“We unite Tuscan artisan excellence
to bring true Italian leather where it matters:
into the hearts of global buyers.”

Our companies are an integral part of Tuscan culture

The name Stilnovo was chosen as a tribute to the Dolce Stil Novo, the poetic movement that celebrated grace, purity and expressive perfection.

It is a name chosen to evoke the same harmony that guides our businesses: a refined balance between beauty, artisan mastery and a radiant idea of renewal.

Just as the poets of the Dolce Stil Novo elevated the Italian language to new heights, so the Stilnovo Consortium aims to elevate Tuscan leather goods, transforming tradition, creativity and attention to detail into an identity that is recognized worldwide.

The consortium was founded in 1992 within Artigianato Fiorentino, the association of artisans belonging to Confartigianato (the Italian General Federation of Craftspeople and Small Businesses). Today it brings together numerous industrial and artisan companies in the leather goods sector, with a particularly strong presence in the Florence area.

The consortium collaborates with the Tuscany Region, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Metropoli Agency of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, working with these institutions on major promotional initiatives linked to the leather industry.

Originally, its activities focused mainly on supporting companies in the Japanese and U.S. markets, where member firms had established commercial interests. Over time, also following the crises that affected the American market, its strategy evolved, expanding its scope to more international areas.

Over the years the consortium has taken part in independent trade fairs such as Promopell and, together with ICE, events such as Moda Italia. It has also maintained a constant presence at Mipel, an important occasion for meeting buyers from different countries.

Despite the difficulties of recent years, due to the global economic crisis, the contraction of European exports and the growing competition from emerging countries, demand for “Made in Italy” products remains strong.
